This was a calligraphy project completed in May 2016. The client, Chris Laria, graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master’s of Science in Planning. He asked for his name and degree to be lettered into each invitation to the graduation ceremony and the celebration afterward. The gothic script used for the lower case letters is called Textura Quadrata and is written with a broad edged calligraphy nib. The cursive capitals are in a hand called Engrosser’s Script, written with a pointed nib. This nice light brown ink is called walnut ink, known for the unique way it dries; slightly darker at the edge of each stroke.
